Biography
I embarked on my journey with Liverpool Olympic Football Club in 1982 at the age of 12, coinciding with the club’s founding. As the only original player still active from that first team, I played in both the Federation and Association Premier League until I was 26, when ongoing injuries forced me to end my playing career.
Fortunately, I began coaching at 19, and in 1989, I established the club’s first all-age women’s team. I continued to coach women’s football until 1997, proudly helping to create the inaugural Liverpool Olympic women’s team in State League Division 2. I joined the committee in 1989 and served until 1992, and later coached the Olympic youth team from 1998 to 2001.
After returning to the club in 2018 with my 10-year-old son, I resumed coaching and rejoined the committee in 2020, where I took charge of uniforms and sponsorships. In 2023, I became president, and my committee and I successfully reinstated the Premier League women’s team and partnered with Snapp Sports to introduce special needs football at Hoxton Park Reserve, promoting inclusivity in our community.
My vision for the club has always been to foster an environment that welcomes individuals of all abilities, nationalities, and religions, as football is a universal language that brings us together. Over my 38 years with Liverpool Olympic Football Club, I have built lifelong friendships and take great joy in seeing our junior, youth, and senior players engage in the sport I love.
